Finished Book Trailers

The 5th graders did a fantastic job with their book trailers over the past few weeks. While not distance learning, the kids usually form groups in the library and make their trailers using iMovie on the library iPads. This year, with all the kids at home and working individually, I had to find a new platform for the trailers to be produced on.

BiblioGarden suggested Animoto but unfortunately, due to GDPR and basic age requirements for the site, we couldn't use this. Thanks to the suggestion of our tech guru, Gitane, I settled on Adobe Spark Video which I ended up liking a lot more than iMovie!

I created some tutorials using Screencastify teaching the kids how to sign on to Adobe Spark Video, how to choose a template, add sound, change the theme, add photos, etc., and then left it up to them!

Based on their trailer planning (which I did not follow as closely last year), I felt the kids did a much better job sticking to the necessities of a book trailer (which we had talked about in previous lessons).

Here's a couple examples of the kids' work.
